About The Position

The Lead Installer is responsible for the installation of HVAC equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, and other related components, into residential customer homes. This role requires adherence to manufacturer specifications, company policy, and local/state codes. Key functions include troubleshooting, installation, start-up, and operation of equipment to ensure customer satisfaction. The installer will also be responsible for installing flex and sheet metal duct systems, refrigerant lines (including brazing and soldering), and ensuring proper gas line connections. Other duties involve metal and wood hole cutting, framing, nailing outlets, and verifying thermostat functionality. The position requires verifying and loading all necessary materials and equipment into a company vehicle, performing duties in accordance with safety regulations, and maintaining the company vehicle. Additionally, the Lead Installer will provide knowledge, training, and guidance to Install Helpers and participate in all required employee meetings and trainings. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with work hours determined by business needs, and overtime may be required. Regular travel to job sites within King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, Mason, Jefferson, and Island counties is expected.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving, analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Minimum of six months prior HVAC installation experience.
  • High school diploma and/or any equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the job.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Remain insurable under our company insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC equipment into residential customer homes per manufacturer specifications, company policy, local and state required codes.
  • Effectively perform the functions of equipment troubleshooting, installation, start-up, operation and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in residential buildings to AMI Quality Standards, required code and job specifications.
  • Perform installation of refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering.
  • Ensure gas line connections and fittings to are properly secured.
  • Perform metal and wood hole cutting, framing and nailing outlets as required by job specifications.
  • Ensure functionality of thermostats to control HVAC system is operational.
  • Verify all materials and equipment required for each scheduled job and load into company vehicle.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with appropriate safety trainings and regulations as defined by company policy and procedure.
  • Ensure that company vehicle is maintained and operated in accordance to company driving policy.
  • Provide knowledge, training and guidance to Install Helpers to assist in the development of skills necessary to perform HVAC installation job requirements.
  • Participate and attend all required employee meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
