About The Position

EXL, through its Castle High Value and EXL Risk Control service offerings, partners with commercial and personal line insurance carriers to provide field appraisal, inspection, and risk control services. Castle High Value specializes in high-value residential insurance surveys nationwide. This position is for self-directed independent contractors to work from their own home or office, servicing physical survey/inspection assignments in the Fredericksburg, VA area, within a 70-mile radius. While experience in real estate, insurance, inspection, construction, or appraising is a plus, all interested candidates are encouraged to apply, as a 15-hour online training course can provide certification. Fees are negotiable based on experience and job specifics. The role involves scheduling and conducting both site-based and virtual High Value Home property surveys for homeowners' insurance, managing assignments, and utilizing solid computer skills for web-based reporting. This opportunity offers flexibility and independence for individuals interested in real estate, construction, or interior design.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Professionally interact over the phone, via email, and in-person with homeowners and insurance agents
  • Conduct on-site and/or virtual property surveys on high value homes as per customer specific guidelines and procedures
  • Identify and document the construction materials/characteristics and unique features of the home
  • Obtain measurements of the home and other structures on the property
  • Generate an estimated replacement value of the home, and identify major hazards
  • Communicate the information gathered during on-site inspection in the provided web-based client requested forms accessed through the Castle website
