About The Position

The Residential Helper assists in the collection of residential waste, recycling, and yard debris for a trash collection company. This role involves physically demanding outdoor work and requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork. The Residential Helper works alongside a driver to ensure timely and proper collection of waste materials from homes, adhering to company guidelines and municipal regulations.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Physically fit and Must be able to lift heavy items (up to 75 lbs) and stand, walk, or run for extended periods.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to work early morning shifts and extended hours when necessary.
Team player with a strong work ethic.
Reliable transportation to and from work.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in waste management, general labor, or a similar field is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist in the collection of residential waste, recycling, and yard debris.
Ride on the back of a garbage truck and help in loading waste into the vehicle.
Ensure all waste is properly collected and disposed of according to company standards.
Operate safely around traffic and residential areas.
Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Assist the driver with navigating routes when necessary, spotting while backing up the truck, and ensuring smooth workflow.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area and equipment.
Other job-duties as assigned.
