About The Position

Residential Energy Auditor (Field-Based) Location: Wilmington, DE (Field-Based; Work From Home with Local Travel Required) Ready to make a difference? Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in either residential energy auditing or building performance, commercial energy auditing or construction background with focus on energy efficiency
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for energy modeling (Blower Door, Combustion Analyzer, Infrared Camera, Flow Meters, etc).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within assigned territory.
  • BPI (Building Performance Institute) BA-T and BA-P certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • BPI (Building Performance Institute) QCI certification.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of utility energy efficiency programs and weatherization standard

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site energy audits for residential customers, including installation of light energy -saving measures
  • Inspect insulation, HVAC systems, lighting, and appliances for efficiency and safety.
  • Collect and analyze utility data to determine baseline energy usage.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with recommendations for energy-saving measures and estimated cost-benefit analysis.
  • Educate homeowners and property managers on energy efficiency practices and available incentives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal energy codes and program guidelines.
  • Coordinate with contractors and QA/QC inspectors to verify installation of recommended measures.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel. Requirements are between 50% to 85% of the time. (reimbursement for mileage provided)
