Position: Direct Support Professional ( Relief DSP) Compensation Range: $17/hr. - $18.39/hr. for Residential $16.10/hr .for Day Program Relief Hours: Residential Relief DSP's select their available hours each week (a certain minimum number of shifts required each month to maintain relief status) Day Habilitation Relief DSP's Can choose any number of hours Mon-Fri between 7:45am-4pm Residential Relief DSP's work in a residential setting assisting individuals served in becoming self-sufficient, self-advocating, and self-actualized individuals. Daily responsibilities include assisting individuals to achieve and exceed their personal goals, provide structure and emotional support, assist in the facilitation of resolving behavioral issues, assist individuals with personal hygiene, manage and dispense medication, complete detailed, accurate documentation as assigned. DSP’s must communicate effectively with individuals and their families. Cooking and light housekeeping may also be required. Day Habilitation Relief DSP's work at Maple Ridge Day Center to assist in any of the classrooms (based on need). Relief staff assist lunch coverages, goals and activities, ADL's including hygiene, Recreational activates, arts & crafts and greenhouse activities. Assist in all areas of daily living to facilitate social and interpersonal development, including meal prep, personal care and social development. Assist with the development and implementation of recreational and community activities Implement and comply with Individual Service Plans (ISP) and all plans of care Maintain clear and concise documentation of individuals’ activities including, but not limited to, medical notes, medication administration logs, incident reports, daily notes, etc. Must acquire and maintain valid medication certification and adhere to policies and procedures relevant to medication administration Safely transport individuals to work, educational and medical appointments or extra-curricular activities as required
