Residential Counselor (Non-student Extra Help)
About The Position
UAM, one of twenty campuses of the University of Arkansas System, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock. UAM is a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs. Summary Of Job Duties Live in-residence hall; assist in peer counseling first-year students; supervise and develop recreational activities; assist with all program activities; complete student evaluation forms; attend orientation and staff meetings; assist instructors in classroom activities; assist in tutoring students during the evening help rooms; and perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to work effectively with students and staff, both in classroom and residential setting
- Current full-time, upper-class undergraduate student in good academic standing at time of employment
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills
- Responsible and mature

- Prior peer counseling experience preferred
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Experience working in group settings
