About The Position

This position involves providing rehabilitative support to adults residing in Group Living Environments (GLEs). The Residential Counselor will foster skills for daily living and community integration, including teaching Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as cooking, budgeting, and medication management, as well as socialization skills. Responsibilities also include implementing Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance, administering and supervising medications according to MAP guidelines, transporting residents to appointments and community activities, advocating for their needs, modeling healthy coping strategies, and maintaining a safe, clean home environment with timely documentation. Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (English)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care
  • Willingness to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain MAP certification within 3 months (if not currently certified)

Responsibilities

  • Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration
  • Obtain MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification within 3 months if not currently certified
  • Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills
  • Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance
  • Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care
  • Transport residents to appointments and community activities
  • Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies
  • Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation
