The Residential Counselor provides rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration. This role involves teaching ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills, implementing Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance, administering/supervising medications by MAP guidelines, transporting residents, advocating for their needs, modeling healthy coping strategies, and maintaining a safe, clean home environment with timely documentation.

Requirements

  • MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (English)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care

Nice To Haves

  • Direct care experience preferred.
  • Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).

Responsibilities
