About The Position

This position provides direct care services as well as administrative and team lead support to residential programs. Shift responsibilities include crisis intervention, life skills training, rule enforcement and appropriate modeling while core administrative duties include assisting with hiring and orientation of new staff, scheduling and shift coverage, program compliance, and facilities management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field
  • 2 years experience in working with runaway/ homeless youth, including residential roles
  • Ability to effectively engage youth with diverse identities, including the intersecting identities of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, and sexual orientation/ gender identity and expression
  • Ability to effectively manage crisis situations
  • Experience facilitating groups and knowledge of group dynamics
  • Knowledge of positive youth development and trauma-informed care
  • Strong communication, organizational, planning and other administrative skills
  • Computer proficiency including word processing, spreadsheets and web navigation

Responsibilities

  • Complete a minimum of two scheduled shifts per week, providing resource information, crisis intervention and/ or other assistance as appropriate.
  • Utilize a youth development and strengths-based approach when working with youth
  • Supervise resident activities.
  • Monitor and enforce applicable program rules and policies
  • Provide advance notice to supervisor and find replacement if unable to work a scheduled shift
  • Remain on duty until relieved by another staff at all times.
  • While on shift, stay on Ozone House property unless prior approval from a supervisor has been given
  • Promptly inform Supports Coordinators or Therapist of important issues involving their client(s)
  • Provide assistance, as needed, to youth to prepare meals
  • Read recent client logs, updates and other program documentation
  • Maintain on-going documentation such as logs, incident reports and life skills logs.
  • Abide by all Ozone House, Inc. policies and procedures
  • Ensure that assigned staff receive on-going supervision to enable them to fulfill the performance expectations of their job in accordance with agency philosophy, mission, and standards.
  • Document supervision activities
  • Provide regular feedback to staff on performance and in coordination with the Residential Program Director, implement performance improvement or disciplinary actions as needed according to the agency's personnel policies
  • Partner with the Residential Program Director to administer written performance evaluations to all staff completing their orientation period and on an annual basis, or more often as needed
  • Participate in weekly case review/ team meetings for residential programs
  • Communicate weekly updates and other relevant information to residential staff
  • Assist with hiring and orientation of new residential staff and provide on-going peer support
  • Assist with scheduling and ensure adequate shift coverage for residential services
  • Coordinate life skills programming including on-going curriculum enhancement and monitoring the quality of offerings
  • Utilize the HMIS system to complete various data entries for residential programs as assigned (i.e. appointments and sign in sheets)
  • Oversight of residential documentation including logs and client data
  • Assist with facilitates management via identification of issues or concerns by reporting to administration
  • Coordinate program supply acquisition
  • Attend regular supervisory meetings with the Residential Program Director
  • Attend Ozone House all-staff meetings
  • Attend and contribute to Residential Team meetings
  • Attend regular trainings to enhance skills and meet licensing requirements (50 hours in the first year of employment and at least 25 hours/ year thereafter)
  • Lead two trainings for the Residential Team annually
  • Maintain the on-call phone on a rotating basis, to provide 24-hour emergency assistance, and crisis intervention to homeless and runaway youth
  • Communicate updates and instructional information regarding clients to pertinent staff members including Residential Program Director, Clinical Staff, Youth Specialists, and on-call
  • Complete other job duties as assigned
