About The Position

The Gladney Center for Adoption offers a supportive and structured environment for teenage girls who have endured significant trauma and come from challenging backgrounds. As a Residential Coordinator, you will play a vital role in fostering a sense of safety, stability, and growth. This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact—working closely with these young women to guide them through their daily routines while helping to build a foundation of trust, resilience, and personal development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid/current driver’s license.
  • Must be able to drive at night.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Microsoft Teams.
  • Physically able to use authorized crisis Intervention techniques, cook, clean, participate in programming activities, and carry and/or lift 25lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services field.
  • Experience with TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), SAMA, and Crisis Intervention techniques, preferred.
  • Skilled in trauma- informed-care and meeting the complex needs of vulnerable children and youth.
  • Experience working with adolescents and/or at-risk youth, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Willing to work holidays, during inclement weather, and additional shifts as needed.
  • Strong time management, responsive, accurate and team-oriented.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • High standards of confidentiality, trustworthiness, discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for teenage girls.
  • Assist youth with treatment goals, homework, self-regulation, and hygiene plans.
  • Facilitate daily schedules, ensure timely follow-through, and support completion of daily tasks.
  • Support creation of nutritious menus, assist with grocery shopping, and supervise meal and snack preparation under direction of program coordinator.
  • Model and teach healthy connections, self-management, coping skills, and safety through consistency and appropriate decision-making.
  • Facilitate engaging interactions, recreational activities, outings, and social engagement opportunities.
  • Transport youth to and from school, appointments, extracurricular activities, and outings
  • Adhere to 24-hour awake supervision requirements.
  • Dispense medication and maintain accurate medication logs.
  • Maintain living environment by ensuring cleanliness and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Document shift experience thoroughly and communicate youth needs with supervisor and other shifts in accordance with licensing standards and Gladney policies.
  • Apply a trauma-informed lens to all aspects of work with youth.
  • Maintain regulated and appropriate communication and interaction with youth at all times.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned to support organizational objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
