About The Position

The Case Manager Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Residential Mental Health Advocate. Working under the supervision of a Residential Case Manager and Mental Health Advocate, the Case Manager Intern will assist in coordinating with youths outside treatment team, writing school reports for initial and updated service plans, data collection, transportation, supervise visits, prep for psychoeducation groups, attend meetings and office work. The Case Manager Intern may help to provide weekly check in with youth under the supervision of the Mental Health Advocate. The Case Manager Intern will assist the Residential Case Manager and Mental Health Advocate with responsibilities such as: composing professional documentation, data collection, communicating information, attending court hearings, meetings and other activities assigned by the Residential Case Worker.

Requirements

  • Educational requirements working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record and adequate insurance with a reliable vehicle available at all times.
  • Possess an understanding and sensitivity to the client’s socioeconomic characteristics with personal qualities of warmth with the ability to establish meaningful relationships with people from various cultures.
  • Positive acceptance of supervision in order to learn and be trained in job-related functions.
  • Become familiar with and follow the code of ethics and agree to abide by the related Agency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Forming effective and mutually satisfying work relationships with all other members of house teams.
  • Organizing and redirecting staff with appropriate information related to the coordination of youth’s cases.
  • Assist aspects of written portion of the school section of the Initial Service Plans and Updated Service Plans.
  • Communication with referring or supervising caseworker from outside the Agency.
  • Forming a caring, therapeutic relationship with each assigned student. Case Manager Intern will meet weekly with assigned youth to provide updates in their case and help coordinated unmet meeting.
  • Provide transportation to and from medication reviews, visit, and early school pickups.
  • Complete weekly data collection from youth’s daily logs and complete office tasks, such as making copies, filing, mailing documents to outside workers, filling our correspondence logs, and assisting in group therapy prep.
  • Abiding by all policies and practices of DA Blodgett - St. John’s Home.
  • Completing other reasonable assignments which may be made by the Program Manager, Clinical Supervisor and/or Residential Therapist.
