About The Position

Waypoint offers comprehensive services, including a special purpose private school for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, case management and outpatient therapy services for children and adults, and residential and in-home supports for adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Position Overview Manage and direct all facility operations and member care in accordance with agency, state and federal regulations. Supervise, support and schedule residential staff to provide high quality services/care. Maintain the physical facility to ensure the safety and comfort of residents. Work a variety of hours in the home as required monitoring all shifts and ensuring that quality care and services are provided at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong management, organizational and communication skills are necessary.
  • Must have strong computer skills/advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license from current state of residence.
  • Strong skills in medical care coordination.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.
  • Four-year degree in Social Services, Business, Health Care Administration or a related field (may be waived with 5+ years of pre-existing experience in the human service field.)
  • Two to five years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Supervisory experience necessary.
  • Ability to transfer and reposition adults weighing up to 100-200 lbs. with another staff and/or mechanical lift as needed.
  • Must meet physical requirements: normal degree of flexibility; ability to stand, walk, run and shuffle for several minutes; kneel on one and two knees and then stand up; bend 45 degrees at the trunk and twist to either side; able to grasp firmly; able to raise hands above head.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct an annual member/individual Assessment, work with PCP support staff within Waypoint to develop clinical treatment plans and PCP annual documents to present to the PCP team to promote medically necessary supports. Monitor for change in services needs by conducting reviews.
  • Ensure that resident’s rights are consistently upheld and that all members are treated with dignity and respect.
  • As appropriate, monitor and advocate for changes in individual treatment plans that would be in the best interest of individual members.
  • Work with community service and work support personnel to offer members individualized and personally satisfying activity and program schedules.
  • Facilitate member meetings and complete all necessary reports in accordance with State regulations.
  • Coordinate members’ medical/psychiatric care through consulting professionals, coordinating appointments, utilizing Nurse Consultant and ensuring follow through on recommendations.
  • Ensure members’ dietary needs are met and consult with Nurse Consultant or dietitian when necessary.
  • Accurately manage member and home financial accounts per agency policy and complete all forms required by accounting.
  • Provide on-call emergency coverage as scheduled or needed.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, including authorized staffing hours and operating the programs within the set budget (food, staffing/OT, transportation).
  • Ensure that the facility is consistently in compliance with all regulatory agencies (e.g., State Fire Marshall, DHHS, and State licensing, etc.).
  • Ensure payroll and billable DSP hours reflect accurately and any variances are corrected within 3 days.
  • Monitor ERK, MARS and all electronic documentation to ensure it reflects the quality of care, medically necessary services/supports and it meets all regulatory standards.
  • Interview, hire, train/develop and schedule competent staff to provide coverage in the programs, keeping staffing hours within billing targets.
  • Monitor staff orientation and training needs, and document to ensure that all staff receive appropriate trainings as they are due.
  • Effectively manage and develop staff through regularly scheduled and documented feedbacks.
  • Hold staff accountable to complete required documentation by the end of each shift.
  • Monitor emails and phone calls throughout the work day and respond immediately to urgent matters and all other correspondence within 24-48 hours.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of support staff at regular intervals and maintain organized and up-to-date personnel files within the home and electronically within the Waypoint system(s).
  • Observe staff performance on all shifts and provide regular support and feedback.
  • Monitor the physical facility for repair needs, order and cleanliness by ensuring that the home consistently reflects an exceptionally clean and safe environment. Promptly fill out a MainBoss request for all repairs needed.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance and service schedule.
  • Monitor supply inventories and ensure that home has necessary supplies in stock.
  • All other duties as assigned
