The Diagnostic Imaging Residency at Mississippi State University is a three and one half year, clinical based program designed to educate residents in the art and science of diagnostic and interventional imaging. The program provides a post-DVM individual with educational experience in both small and large animal diagnostic imaging, under the supervision of Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Radiology, preparing them for ACVR board certification. Residents have the option to complete a Master's degree during the program. Learning objectives for the residency follow those established by the ACVR and include detailed studies in applied gross anatomy, pathophysiology, physics of radiology, radiation biology and safety, alternate imaging, special procedures, and critical image analysis and differential diagnosis in all modalities available. Successful residents will have the opportunity to pursue career goals in teaching, research, clinical service or specialty practice. A certificate of Residency Training is presented after successful completion of the 3.5 year program.
