About The Position

This position is responsible to assist the adult residents of St. Margaret’s Shelter move constructively and in a planned manner towards achieving personal independence.

Requirements

  • experience in the field of social services

  • Attendance: ability to consistently arrive and be able to work as scheduled.

Nice To Haves

  • An AA or BA level of academic experience may be beneficial but is not required.
  • Experience in direct client services as well as working with issues of homelessness, poverty and violence against women and children preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain resident records, daily log and other documentation.
  • Provide feedback, as needed, to assist residents with solving problems and conflict resolution.
  • Provide oversight for residents of policies and procedures to ensure that St. Margaret’s Shelter rules are being followed.
  • Carry out shift responsibilities to ensure the ongoing safety, cleanliness and smooth operation of St. Margaret’s facility.
  • Ensure that donations are sorted and distributed according to Pearl guidelines.
  • Answer the phone and complete phone intakes.
  • Assist residents, as needed, with urgent care issues and provide case management services as needed.
  • Ensure that house rules are followed.
  • Provide leadership and appropriate response in case of an emergency.
  • Perform as a team member to ensure that productivity outcome measures are achieved.
  • When scheduled for the overnight shift, ensure the security system is armed.
  • Uses appropriate administrative, fiscal, physical, and technical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of CCEW client protected health information (PHI), per regulations outlined in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Will regularly utilize all forms of communication (email, text, phone, etc.) and database practices necessary for this position and as directed by supervisor.
  • As a mandated reporter, follows all procedures outlined in agency policies and procedures to report to the proper agency when there is suspicion and/or confirmation that a child or adult has been a victim of abuse or neglect.

  • Perform related functions necessary to support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.
