Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an applied science discipline is preferred; candidates with equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction/inspection on a large projects.
  • Licenses/Registrations/Certifications are encouraged, and applicants may be required to participate in certification and training courses post-hire as required by OSHA, industry, and/or client-specific requirements. Such certifications could include concrete, asphalt certifications, erosion control, environmental, and hazardous materials training, etc.
  • Physical demands: Frequently required to walk (including walking in rough terrain outdoors), stand, sit, use hands to operate, and handle objects, tools, or equipment.
  • Ability to talk, see, hear, and reach with hands and arms, walk, stand, or stoop.
  • Frequently required to lift or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally over 25 lbs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals wanting assistance to perform these essential functions.
  • Work Environment: Field/outdoors; exposed to environmental elements including humidity, dust, noise, and various temperatures; work in various high-traffic areas.
  • Use of personal protective equipment is required and provided by the firm.
  • Valid Driver's license to visit various job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Documenting progress in the field for record keeping purposes.
  • Document the installation of work to verify its compliance with the requirement of the Construction Documents.
  • Notify responsible parties should the RPR observe an issue or have a concern about the installation of work.
  • Review contractor payment requests in accordance with work placed and accepted in the field.
  • Attend all pre-activity meetings and construction progress meetings.
  • Coordination and scheduling of special inspections as required by Contractor Schedule.
  • Reviewing and evaluation change proposals as required.
  • Provide a construction manager daily report which includes the following information: Client, Project Name, Project Number, Location, Date and Sequential Number of Report Architect, Contractor, and RPR Firm Information Field Manpower On-Site Special Purpose Contractors or Inspector On-Site Noted Project Daily Actions and any Achieve Milestones on an Area-by-Area basis.
  • Observational Project Concerns or Deficiencies Unresolved Installation Deficiencies Photographs of Project Progress (with annotation to the job task being performed)
