About The Position

Saber Power Services, a portfolio company of Greenbelt Capital Partners, is a fully integrated electrical power system services firm providing end-to-end solutions across utility, renewables and battery storage, industrial, petrochemical, and other markets. Position Summary: The Resident Project Representative (RPR) serves as the Owner’s on‑site representative, providing full‑time construction observation and documentation to ensure that all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and related building systems are installed in accordance with the contract documents, approved submittals, and applicable codes and standards. The RPR acts as the daily liaison between the Owner, Engineer, Contractor, and commissioning team, supporting quality assurance, risk mitigation, and timely issue resolution throughout construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field), Construction Management, or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ years of experience in construction observation, field engineering, commissioning, or MEP construction (utility, industrial, or commercial projects preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) systems including HVAC, power distribution, lighting, fire protection, and controls systems
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ICC, and local building codes
  • Experience with construction documentation, including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists
  • Understanding of commissioning processes and system start-up procedures
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to interact effectively with owners, engineers, contractors, and field personnel
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and construction management/document control software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)
  • Ability to work full-time on-site and adapt to varying field conditions

Responsibilities

  • Observe daily construction activities to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and approved submittals.
  • Monitor installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and low‑voltage systems for conformance with design intent.
  • Identify deviations, deficiencies, or potential issues early and communicate them promptly to the Engineer and Owner.
  • Verify equipment placement, clearances, maintainability, and adherence to manufacturer requirements.
  • Observe integration of BAS controls, sensors, interlocks, and sequence‑of‑operations elements.
  • Prepare daily field reports summarizing progress, manpower, weather, issues, and observations.
  • Maintain logs of RFIs, submittals, field changes, and non‑conformance items.
  • Document installed conditions with photos, measurements, and field sketches as needed.
  • Track material deliveries and verify that installed materials match approved submittals.
  • Support development of as‑built documentation by recording field changes and system routing.
  • Serve as the on‑site liaison between the Owner, Engineer, Contractor, and commissioning team.
  • Participate in construction meetings, progress reviews, and coordination sessions.
  • Facilitate timely communication of field issues, clarifications, and design interpretations.
  • Support coordination between trades, especially in congested MEP spaces.
  • Observe equipment start‑ups, functional checks, and acceptance testing.
  • Verify that systems are ready for commissioning prior to CxA involvement (pre‑functional readiness).
  • Document test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
  • Support the commissioning team by providing field insight, access coordination, and installation verification
  • Assist the Engineer and Owner in reviewing schedules, pay applications, and change order requests.
  • Track installed quantities and verify progress for payment validation.
  • Monitor compliance with project requirements such as safety protocols, quality standards, and federal procurement rules (e.g., AIS, BABA, if applicable).
  • Maintain awareness of project schedule impacts and notify the Owner of risks or delays.
