The Resident Monitor plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, security, and daily operations of a work release facility serving individuals transitioning back into the community. This position combines custodial supervision, documentation, and client interaction to ensure a structured, compliant, and supportive environment. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work in a structured or secure environment
Willingness to work with justice-involved individuals
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
Sound judgment and decision-making skills
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal boundaries
Valid Florida driver’s license
Ability to pass a background screening and meet Florida Department of Corrections requirements

Nice To Haves

Experience in corrections, criminal justice, behavioral health, or reentry services
Prior experience working with justice-involved populations
College coursework in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or related field

Responsibilities

Maintain safety, security, and supervision of residents in a structured work release environment
Conduct routine counts, inspections, and searches to control contraband and ensure compliance
Monitor daily resident activities including meals, work assignments, visitation, and recreation
Complete accurate documentation, reports, logs, and entries in the inmate management system
Perform intake procedures for new residents, including documentation and file setup
Respond appropriately to incidents while maintaining professionalism and emotional control
Identify and report safety, medical, or behavioral concerns
Enforce policies, procedures, and emergency protocols
Participate in required trainings and staff meetings
Support a respectful, structured, and accountable environment for residents and staff
