About The Position

M&J Engineering is seeking experienced personnel for Resident Engineers for current projects in NYC. M&J Engineering, P.C. (M&J) is growing as a design firm and a leader in construction management and inspection, civil, ITS, mechanical, electrical, wastewater, water supply, tunnel, airport, port, marine/coastal, and environmental engineering, and design-build services for both new infrastructure projects and renovations. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Landscape Architecture
• At least 5+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• inspect various aspects of construction activities and performance to ensure compliance with the contract provisions
• inspection of daily construction work to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications
• minimum testing of materials
• review of contractor submittals, requests for information and coordination with the contractor
• monitoring maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT)
• preparing daily inspection reports
• perform field measurements of pay items
• provide computations for pay items
• participate in meetings
• preparing meeting minutes and follow up action items
• other responsibilities as warranted
