Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Resident Engineering for transit/rail projects.
  • Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in Illinois preferred.
  • Strong expertise in reading and interpreting complex contract documents, specifications, and plans.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with contractors, designers, and transit agencies.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in Illinois preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site representative for transit construction projects, ensuring work is executed per contract plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Supervise and mentor field staff, engineers, and subconsultants assigned to the project.
  • Lead construction meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Oversee quality assurance, ensuring work is completed to industry and client standards.
  • Review and process RFIs, change orders, submittals, and claims to keep projects running smoothly.
  • Monitor and enforce safety and environmental compliance, adhering to client and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve field issues and construction challenges.
