Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Resident Engineering for transit/rail projects.
- Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in Illinois preferred.
- Strong expertise in reading and interpreting complex contract documents, specifications, and plans.
- Proficiency in construction management software, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with contractors, designers, and transit agencies.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineer’s License (PE) in Illinois preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site representative for transit construction projects, ensuring work is executed per contract plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Supervise and mentor field staff, engineers, and subconsultants assigned to the project.
- Lead construction meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and maintain detailed project documentation.
- Oversee quality assurance, ensuring work is completed to industry and client standards.
- Review and process RFIs, change orders, submittals, and claims to keep projects running smoothly.
- Monitor and enforce safety and environmental compliance, adhering to client and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide technical expertise to resolve field issues and construction challenges.
