About The Position

The Assisted Living Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and care provided in an assisted living facility, ensuring that residents receive high-quality, compassionate care in a safe and supportive environment. This role involves supervising caregiving staff, managing resident care plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Assisted Living Supervisor plays a key role in fostering a positive, resident-centered environment while supporting staff development and maintaining effective communication with residents' families.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in an assisted living, healthcare, or long-term care setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Licensure: Certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or a similar certification is preferred. A nursing license (RN or LPN) is an advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations for assisted living facilities.
  • Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Supervision:
  • Lead, manage, and supervise caregiving staff, including scheduling, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Ensure that staff follow facility policies, procedures, and care plans while delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and support to staff, promoting professional development and teamwork.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure open communication and address any concerns.
  • Resident Care and Safety:
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and regular review of individualized care plans for each resident.
  • Monitor the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents, ensuring their needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Ensure staff follow proper safety procedures and infection control practices to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents promptly, ensuring appropriate care is provided and proper documentation is completed.
  • Communication and Family Engagement:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for residents and their families, addressing concerns and providing regular updates on resident health and well-being.
  • Facilitate family meetings to discuss care plans, progress, and any changes in resident needs.
  • Foster strong relationships with residents and their families, encouraging engagement in community activities and events.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing assisted living facilities.
  • Prepare for and participate in inspections, audits, and surveys conducted by regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident care, staff training, and facility operations in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Resident Activities and Engagement:
  • Work with the activities team to develop and implement programs that promote socialization, physical activity, and overall well-being for residents.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities that align with their interests, abilities, and care plans.
  • Assist with organizing special events and outings to enhance the residents' experience.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
  • Assist in managing the facility's budget, controlling costs while ensuring the quality of services.
  • Ensure that the necessary supplies, equipment, and medications are available and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including housekeeping, dietary, and maintenance, to ensure a well-functioning facility.
