About The Position

HireNow Staffing is seeking a seasoned Registered Nurse (RN) with leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care to join a well-respected facility in the South Hill/Spokane area. This pivotal role oversees the daily clinical operations and nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs while maintaining a compassionate, family-centered approach to resident care. The ideal candidate is both clinically sharp and emotionally intelligent someone who thrives on guiding care teams, resolving challenges with empathy, and creating a supportive environment for residents, families, and staff alike.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington, in good standing.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, or long-term care environment.
  • At least 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience managing clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive family communications and emotionally charged situations with professionalism and grace.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of care planning, MDS, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree or higher (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with state surveys, QAPI programs, and care coordination within skilled nursing settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build team culture , improve staff engagement, and maintain high clinical standards.
  • Working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and documentation systems.
  • Passion for mentorship and staff development fostering an environment where nurses feel valued and supported.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage nursing teams, ensuring optimal coordination of resident care across all shifts.
  • Oversee clinical documentation , assessments, and care plans to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Partner closely with families to communicate resident needs, care goals, and progress with compassion and clarity.
  • Monitor resident outcomes and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain the highest quality of care.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal guidelines, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance while fostering professional development and accountability.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support departments to ensure comprehensive, coordinated resident care.
  • Respond to emergencies, conduct rounds, and maintain a proactive presence on the unit to support residents and staff.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives that promote resident satisfaction and operational excellence.
