About The Position

Job Summary Actively participates in all assigned clinical and non-clinical activities. Maintains responsibility for providing continuity of care in general or specialty areas. Assesses, plans and provides patient care in collaboration with the Attending Physician. Provides comprehensive health assessments, performs medical diagnosis of acute and chronic illnesses, prescribes medications and formulates treatment plans. Diagnoses medical conditions, plans and implements interventions. Assists in medical/surgical/OB/ED/ICU care of patients and evaluates responses in collaboration with the Attending/Consulting Physicians. Resident will meet milestones for the year of training. Travel between rotations and outpatient offices is required. All duties administrative and clinical are under the supervision of a Faculty Physician and/or the physician assigned to the teaching assignment Essential Job Functions Perform team based comprehensive health assessments Participate in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge and skills Order and interpret results of tests such as laboratory and radiography(x-ray) Work up to 28 hour shifts and/or overnight shifts Work week is up to 6 days per week and up to 320 hours averaged over a 4 week period Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education(LCME) or Graduate of a medical school accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or Graduate from an International Medical School AND perform two years of clinical rotations (not observerships) in the United States OR perform one year of an ACGME accredited internship or residency
  • International medical graduates must possess a current ECFMG Certificate and passing scores of USMLE I and II and Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA)
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Medical Training license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Current licensure to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Required / Approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED Program)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification: Preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification: Preferred
