About The Position
Join the American University School of International Service (SIS) as a Resident Assistant (RA) for our two-week Community of Scholars (CoS) pre-college program. Help high school students have an amazing campus experience! Previous RA experience is a plus, but all motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate or graduate student.
- Strong communicator and team player.
- Able to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous RA experience
Responsibilities
- Be the go-to contact for about 10 students.
- Keep students informed and engaged with program events.
- Chaperone afternoon visits and evening activities.
- Supervise free time and study periods.
- Handle student concerns and emergencies.
- Participate in weekend activities (July 11–12).
- Rotate on-call shifts for mornings and nights.
