Resident Aide - Activities, Iowa Veterans Home
About The Position
This is a non-merit temporary position with the Iowa Veterans Home. The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for a temporary Resident Aide to work in the Activity Centers. Hours are 8:45 A.M.-2:45 P.M., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. All applicants are subject to a criminal background and dependent adult abuse check. The State of Iowa participates in E-Verify, a federal program that helps employers confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. Within the required timeframe, new hires will be verified through the E-Verify system to ensure authorization to work in the United States. Responsibilities
- Escort residents to and from activity classes, pushing occupied adult sized wheelchairs.
- Assist in classrooms with projection preparation when not escorting.
- Assist Recreation staff with special events as needed and escort residents to and from events.
