Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in using a computer including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and other applicable software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs essential duties in accordance with Arcadia Family of Company’s mission, vision, values and guideposts.
  • Facilitates scheduled group activities as developed by the Activities Supervisor.
  • Participates in evaluating, improving and creating activities to ensure that each resident’s psychosocial well-being is maintained and spiritual, physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs are met.
  • Facilitates activities in a manner that allows all residents to participate based on their capabilities, needs and interests.
  • Evaluates and records residents’ participation in activity programs.
  • Conducts individualized and meaningful 1:1 visits in accordance with each resident’s care plan and documents the content of the visits.
  • Encourages and assists residents with participation in leisure activities of choice.
  • Observes and communicates to appropriate staff changes in residents’ mood, behaviors and needs.
  • Respects, observes and follows residents’ rights and privacy, and ensures residents’ dignity.
  • Assists with planning, coordinating and accompanying residents on outings as scheduled.
  • Keeps all work and storage areas clean, tidy and organized on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
  • Ensures departmental compliance with corporate, state, and federal safety guidelines.
