Each day as a Resident Advocate is dynamic, hands-on, and full of meaningful interactions. You might start your shift preparing rooms for new arrivals, checking in with clients about their day, or collaborating with case managers to ensure needs are being met. Throughout your day, you’ll handle everything from intakes and safety checks to supporting clients with daily routines and transporting them to appointments. You’ll also monitor the shelter environment, manage essential supplies, and help keep the space clean and welcoming. It’s a role that keeps you engaged, on your feet, and deeply connected to the people you’re there to serve. As a Resident Advocate, you're often the first face our clients see when they walk through the door—and sometimes, it's the first time in a long time they feel safe. You play a vital role in creating a supportive, stable environment where survivors of domestic violence can begin to heal. Whether it’s offering comfort during a crisis, ensuring the shelter is safe and clean, or simply being a consistent, caring presence, the work you do helps individuals and families feel seen, respected, and empowered.
