About The Position

Responsible for providing individual and group educational and developmental opportunities; maintaining residential facilities that are clean, safe and in order; managing operations to include planning, fiscal matters, and personnel relations. Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) for Clery reporting purposes. Salary information: The expected salary for this position is $41,000.00 annually.

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Position requires evening and weekend availability as operational needs dictate.
  • Live-on position requiring primary residence in assigned on-campus housing and participation in the university meal plan (provided).

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Qualifications Experience with university/college housing (i.e., lived in, resident assistant, graduate assistant, etc.)
  • Master's degree in student personnel, higher education, counseling, or a related area.
  • Prior residence life professional experience
  • Experience in staff supervision, administration of residence hall operations, and facilitating student development programming activities.
  • Experience working effectively with various student populations

Responsibilities

  • Community Development & Student Support Cultivate a positive and engaging residential community that promotes student involvement, personal development, and academic success within the assigned area.
  • Design and implement educational and social initiatives aligned with the residential curriculum, utilizing assessment data and community trends to inform programming decisions and improve engagement outcomes.
  • Maintain a visible and accessible presence within the residence hall, proactively engaging students, addressing concerns, and connecting residents with appropriate campus resources.
  • Supervision & Staff Development Assist with recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating Resident Assistants and assigned student employees, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability measures.
  • Participate in ongoing staff development through regular meetings, structured training initiatives, and performance feedback to ensure effective community leadership.
  • Coordinate duty coverage and response protocols to ensure consistent supervision and appropriate support within the residential community.
  • Residential Operations & Administration Direct the day-to-day operations of the assigned residential area, including occupancy transitions, check-ins, check-outs, and community readiness processes in alignment with departmental procedures.
  • Manage accurate administrative documentation and analyze community-level data related to occupancy, incidents, and engagement trends to inform operational adjustments.
  • Support large-scale departmental initiatives such as move-in, move-out, room changes, summer housing, and camps and conferences to ensure coordinated and efficient execution.
  • Maintain proficiency in departmental and university systems used to manage housing operations, student records, conduct documentation, and reporting functions (e.g., StarRez, Banner, Maxient, Microsoft Office, and other applicable financial databases).
  • Facilities & Community Standards Monitor building conditions and coordinate maintenance, custodial, and safety concerns with campus partners to ensure a clean, functional, and well-maintained residential environment.
  • Conduct routine health, safety, and risk management inspections, educating residents on community standards and emergency procedures.
  • Student Conduct, & Crisis Response Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to student crises, behavioral concerns, and emergencies, providing appropriate support and follow-up.
  • Address student conduct matters at the community level using educational interventions, documenting incidents and referring cases when appropriate.
  • Department, Division, & Professional Commitments Collaborate with campus partners and university departments to strengthen student support networks and represent the residential community in cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and assessment efforts by providing community-level insights and participating in operational improvement initiatives.
