About The Position

Every great guest experience at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort starts with a conversation — and a lot of those conversations start with you. As our PBX Operator based in Coos Bay, you're the voice that welcomes guests before they ever set foot on the Oregon Coast. You'll answer calls, connect people to the right teams, and make sure every caller feels heard, helped, and genuinely excited about what's ahead. It's a role that sounds simple on paper but requires real skill: patience, warmth, a little multitasking, and the ability to stay calm and helpful even when the phones are ringing off the hook. About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort: Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to two 'Courses with a Mission': Bandon Preserve, an award-winning par-3 course, and Shorty's, which opened in 2024. All net proceeds from both courses fund the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation, supporting communities along the South Coast of Oregon. Beyond premier golf, guests delight in a variety of dining options at Bandon Dunes’ collection of restaurants. Whether you're looking to enjoy locally-sourced, Pacific-Northwest cuisine accompanied by an award-winning wine list or prefer kicking back in a Scottish-style setting with traditional pub fare and local microbrews, there is something for everyone. Working at Bandon Dunes is a dream for golf fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and hospitality professionals alike. The Bandon Dunes team works together to create trips of a lifetime for our guests. We are passionate stewards of our resort, community, and environment. As an endlessly curious group, we ask questions, share ideas, and always look for a better way. With a hard-working attitude, we help guide our guests through their pure golf experience, immersed in Oregon’s natural beauty and away from the demands of daily life.

Requirements

  • You have a natural phone presence. You're clear, warm, and professional on a call — even when you're juggling several at once. Great phone etiquette isn't something you have to think about; it just comes naturally.
  • You have some customer service experience under your belt. About a year in a customer service, switchboard, or phone-based role gives you the foundation to hit the ground running here.
  • You're comfortable with computers and can type around 40 wpm. You don't need to be a tech expert, but you should be comfortable navigating systems and entering information accurately while handling calls.
  • You communicate well — in writing and in person, too. You can follow and give instructions clearly, and you represent yourself professionally whether you're on a call or working alongside the team.
  • You're flexible and steady under pressure. The phones can get busy, and schedules include evenings, weekends, and varying shifts. You take that in stride and keep your cool when it matters most.

Responsibilities

  • You're the first voice guests hear. You'll answer incoming calls on a 10-line switchboard and route each caller efficiently and warmly to the right department — whether that's golf reservations, lodging, dining, or guest services.
  • You'll be a go-to source of resort information. Callers have questions, and you'll have answers. From course conditions to dining options to general resort details, you'll help guests feel informed and taken care of before they arrive.
  • You'll support the Reservations team when the need arises. Whether it's a busy stretch or a specific situation that needs an extra hand, you'll step in and assist your colleagues to keep things running smoothly.
  • You'll keep records accurate. When relevant, you'll gather and enter guest information to ensure our database stays reliable — a small step that makes a big difference for follow-up and future stays.
  • You'll represent the resort with every interaction. Every call is a chance to reinforce why Bandon Dunes has the reputation it does. Your tone, accuracy, and care go a long way.
