About The Position

As the first point of contact for guests, the Reservationist is responsible for selling the hotel and booking optimal accommodations for guest visits and stays. This requires extensive knowledge of the property and its offerings, including restaurants (Rose Tavern and The Sand Bar), The Spa, on and off-campus activities, nearby events, and local attractions. The role involves managing all aspects of a guest's stay, from business travelers to families, and providing reservations for hotel services and forwarding in-room meal requests. As a partner of Preferred Hotel & Resorts, LVX Collection, the position demands adherence to high standards, with detailed and continuous training provided.

Requirements

  • Be extremely knowledgeable of the property and the products offered including restaurants, The Spa, activities on and off campus, events happening nearby, and local attractions.
  • Ability to adhere to a high level of standards as a partner of Preferred Hotel & Resorts, LVX Collection.
  • Ability to fully comprehend and operate all relevant aspects of the hotel reservations system.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
  • Provide accurate and thorough information on the Lake House’s accommodations, packages, promotions, services, and amenities.
  • Book and enter room reservation requests using booking system.
  • Assist guests with planning and booking hotel, restaurant, package and special event reservations.
  • Assign specific accommodations based upon feature and/or location requests.
  • Transfer calls and respond to guests’ inquiries. Recommend local attractions and places of interest.
  • Have knowledge about the area and be prepared to offer advice when necessary.
  • Process payments and send the details and confirmation to the guest.
  • Ensure revenue is maximized by up-selling guest rooms and recommending hotel facilities.
  • Update reservations ensuring a flawless check-in and check-out process.
  • Answer telephone and email inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to guests who have already made a travel purchase by confirming, changing or canceling reservations.
  • Assist guests with payment and credit card charges questions.
  • Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way.
  • Assists the Front Office Manager in the daily operations of the front desk when needed (check-in, check-out, room moves, guest requests, and other Front Desk responsibilities).
  • Fully comprehend and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the hotel reservations system.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records about bookings, payments, and any additional information that hotel staff might need when interacting with a guest.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned by your supervisor when necessary.
