About The Position

The laboratory of Dr. Makova in the Department of Biology at The Pennsylvania State University seeks a Researcher , to work as part of a research team focused on the analysis of mutations in the human and other genomes. The successful applicant must have the ability to plan, execute, interpret, document, and troubleshoot independent research and to collaborate effectively with other computational and experimental members of a diverse research team. The successful candidate will excel at mentoring junior members of the lab, contribute to the writing of manuscripts and grants, and communicate their science to peers and the public through presentations, writing, and digital formats. Excellent organizational and verbal and written English communication skills are required. Professional development through the acquisition of new skills will be expected. A successful candidate should possess at least a master’s degree or equivalent in an academic field.
