About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Analytical Chemist to join our Analysis Americas team. Our goal is to provide the best information within a short time to our customers in response to their characterization needs. The team operates regionally supporting all aspects of the business. The successful candidate will have expertise in a variety of wet chemistry techniques and ideally, experience with ICP-OES. You will be an integral part of our larger analytical team, contributing to accurate data collection and analysis while maintaining a well-organized and clean laboratory environment. Requirements

  • The individual sought for this specific position will have a B.S./M.S. in chemistry with a minimum of 5 years industrial experience in Analytical Chemistry as well as the following:
  • Proven experience with data collection and analyses from Metrohm potentiometric titrations, moisture, flash point, viscosity and density determinations, and other routine analytical lab equipment.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and proficient in Microsoft office suite of programs.
  • Proficient with instrument troubleshooting, maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ICP-OES is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative wet chemistry analyses on a wide variety of products to meet the characterization needs of multiple customers.
  • Supply timely, insightful analytical reports from analytical data to internal customers.
  • Utilize ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy) for elemental analysis.
  • Follow established protocols and adhere to quality control standards in all testing procedures.
  • Will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of laboratory instrumentation to assure best possible performance and reliability.
  • Maintain a well-documented lab notebook, ensuring all experimental procedures, observations, and results are accurately recorded.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with the larger analytical team and internal customers to support ongoing projects.
  • Ensure the laboratory workspace is tidy, clean, and complies with safety standards.
