The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Researcher I to work in the Division of Genetics and Metabolism. This position supports translational biomedical research focused on rare genetic disorders using mouse models and human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)–derived neuronal systems in the laboratory of Dr. Bryn Webb. The researcher will perform and manage wet-bench experimental studies, including characterization of genetically engineered mouse models, stem cell culture and neuronal differentiation, molecular and cellular assays, and data generation to support externally funded research projects. The work will focus on disease modeling in inherited mitochondrial disorders and a genetically defined ataxia syndrome. This role is essential to advancing mechanistic studies of human disease, supporting grant deliverables, and maintaining safe and compliant laboratory operations within a physician-scientist–led research program. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. Candidates who demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities will be given first consideration: Ability to work independently in a research laboratory environment and manage multiple ongoing experimental projects. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
