This position assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments, including documentation and preparation of materials. More specifically, The Stallings Laboratory is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to assist with innovative research in the areas of microbiology and immunology that are driven towards the development of novel treatments for mycobacterial infections. The Research Technician II will be responsible for the studies involved in evaluating new compounds for antibacterial activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTMs) in bacterial cultures, in cell culture, and in mouse models of infection. In addition, the Research Technician II will be responsible for the studies involved in evaluating new candidate host-directed therapies for immunomodulatory activity that result in better control of M. tuberculosis infection in cell culture and in mouse models. The position requires working in a Biosafety Level 3 laboratory and working with mice, including harvesting tissue.
