About The Position

Works under general supervision to provide routine technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of fundamental techniques and practices related to particular field of science. We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and communicate effectively with research team members, patients, and the broader research community. Preferred skills and experience include fluency in Spanish (a plus), proficiency in Microsoft Office, medical knowledge (such as scribing) or research experience, familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, and experience with REDCap or other research databases. Key responsibilities for this role include collecting and processing biosamples, consenting and enrolling patients, and managing data entry and research databases. The position also requires availability for occasional weekend or after-hours work with a flexible schedule.

Requirements

  • Completion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in histology, medical technology or relevant field or High School Diploma including courses in basic sciences such as physics, chemistry, biology, etc. or GED Equivalent
  • 1 year of experience as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with Completion of two (2) years of college or
  • 3 years of laboratory experience including two years as Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with High School diploma or GED equivalent

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Assists in conducting experiments and working on research problems in such fields as physiology, bacteriology, tissue culture, chemistry, and other related fields by performing basic, routine, and least complex procedures as prescribed by supervisor.
  • Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
  • Records resulting data in accordance with established methods. Confers with supervisor concerning results obtained, and modifies procedures in accordance with instruction of supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
