About The Position

Join a supportive positive young lab studying neural circuits regulating behavior, emotions, and sleep. We use cutting edge tools to manipulate neuronal activity in behaving mice to study the functions of neural circuits regulating sleep, stress, and metabolism. We also use a wide range of techniques to explore basic neuroscience questions. Unique opportunity to actively participate in experimental design and execution with development of experience. Responsible for assisting with laboratory duties in a research setting; performs routine tests with direction from supervisor, manager, or higher-level technician.

Responsibilities

  • Assists investigator, post-doctoral fellow or higher-level technician with research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assists with procedures including injections, behavioral assays, and surgical implantations in mice.
  • Assists with mouse colony management.
  • Collects data using a variety of tools including microscopy, two-photon imaging, in vivo imaging, and behavioral testing.
  • Maintains files on research and assists with data entry.
  • Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
