Research Technician I
About The Position
As one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in the nation, Texas A&M Health encompasses five colleges and numerous centers and institutes working together to improve health through transformative education, innovative research and team-based health care delivery. What we want The Research Technician I, under general supervision performs entry level, semi-skilled, technical support research work involving performance of routine tasks. Maintains laboratory operations involving preparation of glassware, laboratory equipment maintenance, maintaining research supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Excellent Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English.
- Able to comprehend and follow both written and verbal Instructions.
- Ability to perform independent research.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
- Research Technical Support Assembles and operates technical equipment.
- Collect and compiles data.
- Maintains laboratory inventory, including ordering and cataloging of laboratory supplies
- Maintains laboratory equipment, including safety equipment and supplies
- Research Procedure Support Assist with preparation of materials to be used in research
- Collects samples and measurement data from experiments.
- Implements and maintains data collection and summarization of study results.
- Assist senior staff members in conducting laboratory and animal experiments
- Dispose of laboratory waste according to laboratory and university requirements
- Assists with animal experiments, when needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Training Participates in training and professional development sessions as needed.
