About The Position

Opportunity to join a vibrant biomedical research lab environment. The laboratory uses microscopic roundworms called C. elegans to understand neurodevelopmental disorders. This position involves keeping the lab running by generating reagents and maintaining our frozen worm stocks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related scientific field (life sciences) is required with 0 to 2 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a wet lab is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare agar plates and media for worm rearing
• Freeze and thaw worm strains and maintain a database of frozen strains.
• Responsible for basic lab maintenance duties including: purchasing supplies, maintaining inventories, preparing common reagents, keeping common lab spaces neat and organized
• Rarely train other lab members
• Rarely guide other lab members
• A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required
• Occasionally analyze data
• Rarely interpret data
• Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.
