A full-time Research Technician B position is available in the Bowman laboratory at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Our laboratory studies how blood-forming stem cells form and function and how their dysfunction contributes to blood malignancies. The research technician will assist in laboratory experiments, zebrafish colony maintenance, and general laboratory organization. We employ zebrafish genetics, chemical biology and imaging techniques to address these critical questions. The project will involve zebrafish handling including imaging and colony management. Applicants must be comfortable working with zebrafish, although no prior experience with animals is required. Additional knowledge of molecular and biochemical techniques, such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, and western blotting, is preferred. Experience with microscopy is a plus.
