Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies has an opening for a Research Teaching Specialist II located in New Brunswick, NJ. Under the direction of the Institute Director, this position conducts specialized research, using judgement to adapt methods and techniques. Under direction, is responsible for managing surveillance or research studies, including design, analysis, and reporting. May supervise work of students and lower-level professional Duties include: Performs various research and technical operations independently or as assigned, followed by appropriate reports, recommendations and conclusions. Performs analyses with large databases with a high level of independence. Ensures accurate reporting of data. Helps coordinate data management systems; develops and documents data quality control procedures as appropriate. Overview The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (formerly Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies) is undergoing dynamic and transformative growth. The Rutgers Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies is one of the nation’s leading tobacco focused research centers and its faculty have received over $50 million in extramural funding over the past two decades. The Institute’s efforts are focused on their mission of reducing and ultimately eliminating, tobacco-related morbidity and mortality. Five Centers or Programs currently operate at the Institute including a Tobacco Center for Regulatory Science, the Center of Excellence for Rapid Surveillance of Tobacco, the Tobacco Dependence Program, a Tobacco Industry Marketing Program, and a Tobacco Control Law & Policy Resource Center.
