The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. It helps formulate and implement monetary policy, supervises banks and bank and savings and loan holding companies, and provides financial services to depository institutions and the federal government. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking a rising Senior undergraduate student for a summer internship in the Research department. Students majoring in Economics may be considered. This is a paid internship (Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week) for our summer internship program (typically 10 weeks). The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour for undergraduate level. This position requires an on-site presence. The intern will assist our Senior Regional Economic Analysts on preliminary research for one or two topics that focus on regional issues and data. Intern projects: The intern will be involved in the literature search, data gathering, data cleaning, preliminary analysis, and documentation of each step. This will provide the intern with in-depth exposure to regional economic theories, general economic analysis, and several analytical tools. As time permits (and our needs dictate), the intern may be asked to assist in discrete tasks on other Regional Economic Analysis Team projects. The intern will also have opportunities to participate in research department seminars and meetings of the regional economics group.
