About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join our team in Madison, WI! Work Schedule : Monday-Friday 6:30 am-3:15 pm CST some weekends required. Job Responsibilities: As a Research Study Technician, you’ll apply your scientific curiosity in researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies. Handling and restraining animals. May provide husbandry duties to small and large animals. Perform various dosing techniques with small and large animals. Administering test items. Collecting biological samples. Performing clinical observations. Collecting and reviewing data in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures. Organizing study related activities and data. Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines) OR Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus 6 months or more of experience in clinical support, laboratory animal care, or assisting veterinary or research staff in a regulated laboratory or research environment.

  • Reliable adherence to protocols, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals).
  • AALAS Certification
