About The Position

The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for an intermittent Research Study Assistant (RSA). This is also for the Night Shift. The Research Study Assistant will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research at Harborview Medical Center and UWMC. Projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out of hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, sepsis, and opioids. The research study assistant will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders. This Position must be comfortable working overnight and weekend Shift.

Requirements

  • Two years of college-level course work in a relevant academic area AND one year of appropriate experience OR equivalent education/experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related academic area.
  • Prior healthcare experience.
  • Proficiency in REDCap.
  • Experience with EFIC studies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Well-honed organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Ability to work with colleagues in a way that enhances collaboration and team building.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Screen and appropriately enroll eligible subjects on various protocols.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of research databases.
  • Complete data entry for study subjects.
  • Gather, record, organize, transcribe and verify the accuracy of research study data.
  • Process bio specimens per lab guidelines.
  • Perform related duties as required.
