About The Position

The Bailey Lab is looking for a research specialist to work on novel mechanisms of viral persistence. This will involve learning techniques in virology and immunology. Competitive applicants will have a track record of working with rodent models. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. Candidates who demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities will be given first consideration: Rodent handling/bleeding

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable handling live rodents and performing experimental procedures on rodents
  • Must have steady hands
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Must be open minded to learning new skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous rodent handling experience
  • Prior laboratory experience

Responsibilities

  • Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area.
  • Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
  • Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s).
  • Collects data and monitors test results
  • Performs literature reviews and writes reports
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
