The Boyce Lab (Dr. Andrew Boyce) in the Department of Neurosciences seeks a Research Specialist/Lab to work within a neurosciences research lab focused on neurobiology and the underlying cellular mechanisms of recovery in the stroke brain or following hypoxic brain injury, particularly in relation to learning and memory. The Research Specialist will assist in establishing protocols, lab management, ordering supplies, working with rodents to do complex behavioral experiments, and have the opportunity to work on imaging and recording physiological activity in both in vivo mouse and in vitro models. The Lab Specialist conducts highly complex, advanced technical laboratory analyses which are integrated in nature, and which require significant, in-depth knowledge of a specific area of science or engineering. The Lab Specialist will conduct complex research activities involving analysis and evaluation of in vivo imaging and recording data in support of ongoing studies in the Boyce Lab.
