About The Position

Performs a variety of scientific procedures in a research setting, and train laboratory personnel to perform various techniques.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science directly related to the assigned area of research and two years advanced journel-level work experience in a clinical or research setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Must have experience in handling laboratory mice, including harvesting and processing various tissues.
  • Must have extensive knowledge in histology, cell ultrastructure, and light and electron microscopy.
  • Must have advanced computer skills and meticulous record keeping skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all fixation, embedding, staining, and sectioning protocols necessary to produce thick and thin sections for varied tissue and/or cell preparations.
  • Operate the transmission electron microscope to complete sample imaging and analysis culminating is the production and storage of digital images.
  • Record, label and document all specimens received by the laboratory to ensure records and results are maintained for users of the laboratory and proper user fees are assigned.
  • Instruct graduate students and faculty researchers on the use of undefined
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of EM in support of the research and clinical operations.
