The Research Specialist A plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. They will assis in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tools, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Our laboratory focuses on the study of deceased donor pancreata in the pursuit of innovative and collaborative translational research to understand how human beta cells are lost in T1D, and to find innovative strategies to protect and replace functional human beta cell mass. We use preclinical models of non-human primate and mouse to study islet transplant. A Research Specialist A is sought to participate in some aspects of these exciting projects, including assistance in surgical operations, islet cell isolation, functional analysis, immune monitoring, and data analysis.
