A Research Technician 3 position is available immediately in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering (FABE) in the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University (OSU). We seek to hire a motivated individual to support our research team focused on hydrology, soil, and water quality research in Ohio’s agricultural and urban landscapes. This position will contribute to the collection and analysis of water quality samples under guidance from senior faculty and staff. The primary responsibility will be to independently operate a discrete colorimetric autoanalyzer (Seal AQ400) for analysis of agricultural monitoring water quality samples. Relevant duties will include preparing chemical reagents, stocks, and standards, as well as data input and managing data exports from the instrumentation. The individual will lead and assist with fieldwork, primarily water sample collection. Additional activities will include data analysis, laboratory maintenance tasks, and supporting ongoing research efforts as needed. The position will lead the training of undergraduate student workers in the laboratory and assist in assigning daily tasks.
