About The Position

The Yang Lab at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team focused on advancing kidney gene therapy. The project integrates in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experimental approaches using both porcine and human models.

Requirements

  • PhD in molecular biology, genetics, bioengineering, or a related field
  • 7 years of research experience
  • Experience in developing kidney disease models
  • Experience with gene delivery vectors (AAVs, LNPs)

Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments involving gene editing technologies in renal systems.
  • Develop and optimize delivery strategies for genetic therapies.
  • Perform advanced molecular, cellular, and tissue analyses (e.g., flow cytometry, microscopy, sequencing).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of investigators, clinicians, and trainees.
  • Contribute to publications, presentations, and grant development.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications
