Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible. The Research Scientist III is responsible for new NGS assay product development and on market product support. General duties include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, followed by communicating those results to both internal and external groups. This position reports to the Staff Scientist and is part of the Assay Development team located in Boulder, CO and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Develop new products using a combination of wet-lab and dry-lab skillsets Support on market Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) products as a subject matter expert Present experimental demonstrations of products at scientific conferences

Requirements

  • M.Sc. in a life sciences field or related discipline and 3+ years experience with NGS, or Ph.D. in a life sciences or related discipline with some NGS experience.
  • Experience in wet-lab work preparing nucleic acids for NGS, and experience in dry-lab programming for NGS data analysis
  • Foundational knowledge of human genetics and cancer biology
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and efficiently summarize complex scientific topics
  • Familiar with Illumina sequencing technology
  • Ability to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lb
  • Ability to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periods
  • Ability to travel to other IDT sites or scientific conferences (< %5)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with using Python programming, machine learning methods, and NextFlow.
  • Industry experience developing products for the analysis of cancer genetics
  • Experience with loading and troubleshooting Illumina sequencers
