This is a position in the Department of Neurology at Northwestern University. The research group led by Dr. Lesli Skolarus, conducts research focused on stroke prevention and optimizing stroke and improving stroke survivorship and their caregivers. Our studies involve hospital, community, and technology-based approaches and emphasize implementation, community partnership, and participant-centered design. We are seeking a Research Project Coordinator to support multiple ongoing projects, including: 1) a multi-site text-messaging-based study; 2) a web platform designed to improve positive emotion among stroke survivors and caregivers; and 3) a study involving multiple-phase design of a future intervention to help stroke survivors and caregivers. The coordinator may recruit participants, conduct in-person and remote semi-structured interviews with stroke survivors and caregivers at multiple follow-up timepoints, participate in qualitative analysis, and may assist with manuscript preparation. If involved in recruitment, this would be done from Northwestern Memorial Hospital and our community partner hospitals and completing study visits in the community or virtually depending on project needs. The position will also support partnerships with community organizations and contribute to maintaining and expanding meaningful relationships with community leaders, research teams, and collaborators. Additional responsibilities include assisting with IRB submissions and contributing to community and academic presentations. This role operates within a dynamic research environment where project priorities, timelines, and methods may evolve as studies progress. The coordinator must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to changing project needs, and independently determining the steps required to move work forward. Spanish language skills are welcome.
